Il parco delle colline a Livorno
I monti situati alle spalle di Livorno, anticamente (20 milioni di anni fa!) isole facenti parte di un arcipelago, danno origine al Parco delle Colline Livornesi, che comprende parte importante del territorio di Collesalvetti.
Il Parco rappresenta un esempio unico di macchia mediterranea, dove sono presenti boschi di erica, lecci, olmi e sugheri. I fiori delle ginestre e delle orchidee rendono i colori del parco ancora più brillanti.Verdi pioppi, salici e frassini si specchiano nei corsi d’acqua e nelle sorgenti. Cinghiali, volpi, donnole e faine vivono abitualmente nel Parco.
Ma qui, oltre alle risorse naturalistiche ed ambientali, sono presenti anche antichi reperti archeologici ed importanti monumenti, come la Sambuca e l’ Acquedotto del Poccianti.
Grazie ai numerosi e ben segnalati sentieri escursionistici e panoramici, il Parco è luogo prediletto per il trekking e le passeggiate a piedi, in bicicletta, a cavallo.
